John Walsh, Suncoast Information Services Manager, realized that the Intel-based behavioral health application selected as the EMR solution would require greater computer storage than was currently in the Suncoast data center.
Although the EMR solution would significantly reduce the physical space devoted to paper records, there were other challenges to be addressed, including high power consumption and underutilized storage capacity.

Walsh requested proposals from a number of vendors, including Mainline Information Systems, an IBM Premier Business Partner.
