John Jack TarbetJohn Jack Tarbet, age 79, of Minerva, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002, in his home following a long illness.He was born July 12, 1923, in Minerva to Clifford and Mary (Kelly) Tarbet.He was the owner of Chem-O-Jet Inc. chemical cleaning company until 1972, and had also worked for DOW Chemical.He is a member of the Minerva First Presbyterian Church and was a US Army World War II Veteran.He is a member of the Tubal Lodge #551 FAM in Minerva, AASR, Valley of Canton, and the Tadmor Shrine.He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Bates) Tarbet who he married January 15, 1944; two sons, Jon Michael and wife, Linda Tarbet of Salem, W. Bret Tarbet and Sherry Aoki of Alliance; a nephew, Frank Mizer of Hemet, CA.; two grandchildren, Joy Tarbet, Matthew Tarbet; three step-grandchildren, James Aoki, Dannie Leigh and Jacob Dabler.Following cremation there will be a Masonic Service Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.There are no calling hours.Memorial contributions may be made to The Masonic Learning Center for children with Dyslexia at 836 Market Ave. N., Canton, OH 44702 or to the Aultman Hospice Program at 4510 Dressler Rd.
