John Roper is a retired law enforcement officer from the Miami-Dade Police Department.He
served more than 30 years on the police force.During his many years with the Miami-Dade Police Department, John supervised the Crime Stoppers Unit of the Media Relations Bureau; including managing media relations during the first week of Hurricane Andrew.
worked on most high profile cases in Miami Dade County from 1987 until 2001, such as the Jimmy Ryce Murder Investigation and the Andrew Cunanan Murder Investigation.John
also served more than 25 years with the United States Coast Guard
specialized in working with hazardous materials, oil pollution, and explosive loading.John retired as a Chief Petty Officer.John is a member of the Associate Board of Directors for Miami Dade County Crime Stoppers, The Two Hundred Club of Dade County, The Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police, and the South Florida Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc.John attended Florida Atlantic University where he obtained his Master's Degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Crisis and Emergency Management.He received his bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Barry University.John
