leads claims operations-including claims processing, enterprise adjudication, and production accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency-for the organization.Ounjian joined Blue Cross in August 1996 and brought with him a strong background in managing operational and technical resources and matching them with company strategies and goals in the financial services and healthcare industries.Prior to joining Blue Cross, he served as Senior Vice President at both H.F. Ahmanson & Co./Home Savings of America and Union Bank in California.He also served as President of the Technology Advisory Group, a consulting firm supporting the technical and healthcare industries.
At Blue Cross he
has been instrumental in implementing advanced technologies to improve services to consumers, healthcare providers, and agents and in leveraging that technology to make employees' jobs more efficient and rewarding.John is a member of the Inter-Plan Technology Advisory Council (IPTAC) in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association organization.He is also an active member of the Blue Plans IT Roundtable and will host the Fall 2004 conference.He is a member of the Western Internal Operations Conference Planning Committee and served as the Information Systems Caucus Chair for 1999-2000.He
is the Chair for the 2002 Conference.Ounjian
was the first recipient of the Leadership in Communications Award from the Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators
(IABC) presented in November 1999.He
appears in the 2000-2001 edition of Strathmore's Who's Who.His
