LAWYER John Orola, Western Visayas Tourism Council chairman and Bacolod City Administrator, said they are pushing for the immediate installation of Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Processing Center at the Bacolod Silay Airport by September.
Orola, during a forum at the Bacolod Silay Airport recently, said the organizers of Korean flights want the CIQ installed at the Bacolod-Silay Airport by September this year so they can make the proper announcement to wholesalers and retailers in the Korean market.
According to Orola, this is a wasted opportunity so we have to gather our acts together so we will be able to generate foreign currency, jobs, etc, he said.
Orola said they had a meeting about the tour products and destinations of Bacolod and that there are proposals to develop man-made attractions in the city.
Orola said they will also ask the help of Tourism Undersecretary Daniel Corpuz in securing other equipment to meet the requirements of the Bureau of Immigration.
