was saved in 1933 and water baptized on his
He graduated from High School in Longview, Texas in 1943.
Served aboard the Destroyer USS Wren in WW II.
John attended East Texas Baptist College, Marshall, Texas from 1946 to 1950 with a Voice major and Music Theory minor.
was married in 1947 to Sue Shook, they have four children, Tom, Steve, Jim and Susanne, and they have three grand children.
and Sue were married for over 57 years.
served churches in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas as Minister or Director of Music Education.
pastored churches in California from 1956 to 1968.
gathered a spiritual family in Great Falls, Montana from 1975 to 1986, and also gave oversight to several congregations while there in Montana and Canada, stretching as far as Mankato, Minnesota.
John served as Chairman of Northwest Ministries from 1980 until 2005.
The Morelands moved to Midland, Texas in 1986 where John
pastored Petroplex Covenant Church
They moved to Azle, Texas in 1986 where John served at Foundation Ministries until January 2000.
John's last residence was in Euless, Texas, where he
continued to travel in ministry and help congregations, right up until the time the Lord took John home, on March 15th, 2005.
Along with being a capable minister of God's Word, John wrote pertinent books, articles and pamphlets, many of which can be seen on this web site.
Chairman of Northwest Ministries, Joe served as administrator and vice-chairman from 1980 until John Moreland's death in 2005.
