Our member John Meyer told of his outstanding trip to Washington DC (an expense free Honor Flight for WWII Veterans) with 28 other veterans, 28 guardians and sponsors under the sponsorship of Kansas Honor Flight No. 1.

They flew Southwest Airlines
from Kansas City to Baltimore, stayed 2 nights at the Airport Hilton and were sent off/greeted at all stops by color guards and appreciative recognition of bystanders.
At the airport they were greeted by The Annapolis Cadet Honor Guard.
They had full days visiting the impressive WWII Memorial with its column for each state, being greeted by Senator Jerry Moran and Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins, visiting other memorials, the Holocaust Museum, the Air and Space Museum, taking part in the Changing of the Guard (John presenting the wreath) at Arlington Cemetery, as well as visiting Fort McHenry.
