UPDATE 12/03/07 : At the recent village board meeting 12/03/07 John L McCurtain
was mentioned as a candidate for the Arthur Village Administrator position, pending a reference and background check.
According to various web references McCurtain has been town manager of Speedway Indiana, an Indianapolis suburb, from 2005 through August of 2007.
Again, according to web sources, as of 2001, McCurtain
had 29 years experience in the real estate business and 15 in state, municipal and county government administration.He was the county administrator for Leelanau County, Mich. from April 1998 to Oct. 2001.Before that he held the position of town manager for Bristol, Ind. for three years. McCurtain has also been a broker/owner of his own real estate business, assistant commissioner in the office of management budget and administration for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, director of administrative service for the Indiana Department of Human Services and assistant to the commissioner of the Indiana Department of Administration. McCurtain has a B.S. in general studies form Indiana University and a degree in paralegal studies.
