John Lucas, owner of Tradewinds Botanicals Nursery on Orange River Road, called the Lee County Sheriff's Office for help around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, just after the suspects fled.

reported to Detective Brian Wilber that earlier that night, Vega, who lived downstairs, and Sparks, Lucas' employee, were at the residence.

had recently discovered money was missing.
Two hours later, Lucas
was in his
bedroom counting cash from his
business drawer when two masked men in dark clothing broke into the room.
They demanded money, and one aimed a gun at him.
One shoved Lucas
into a corner, near the closet, and the other struck him with the broom.
They then grabbed handfuls of cash and ran.
peered out the window as the two fled in a silver Chevrolet truck, which he
recognized as Sparks'.
Detectives issued a lookout warning for the two, and they were arrested on State Road 82 a short time later.
