John Lienert John E. Lienert is an Associate with the Firm. Mr. Lienert was named a 2016 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lienert was a defense attorney for the insurance industry and large corporations. Mr. Lienert now exclusively represents injured victims. Mr. Lienert has tried numerous cases to verdict and has argued cases before the trial courts, appellate courts and federal courts in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Mr. Lienert is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the West Virginia Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ), and the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (WPTLA). Mr. Lienert is the founder of Steel City Focus Groups - an organization providing focus group sessions to the legal community. Mr. Lienert authored the article "PRINCIPLES FOR SUCCESS: ADVICE FOR YOUNG LAWYERS," which was featured in the July/August 2012 edition of The Pennsylvania Lawyer and updated in the Fall 2014 editions of The Sidebar (AAJ) and The Advocate (WPTLA). Mr. Lienert received his law degree from Ohio Northern University - Claude W. Pettit College of Law. During law school, Mr. Lienert served as Associate Editor for the Law Review and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Walter H. Rice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Mr. Lienert graduated summa cum laude from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Philosophy. In his senior year, Mr. Lienert was named Slippery Rock University's Most Outstanding Philosophy Student after receiving statewide honors for his paper, "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER: INFLUENTIAL THINKERS IN THE LIFE OF THOMAS JEFFERSON." Outside of practicing law, Mr. Lienert is an avid runner. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and he actively supports various charitable causes, including Family Hospice & Palliative Care of Pittsburgh, The Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation, the National Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and various Pittsburgh area hospitals.

Lienert focuses his practice in the area of toxic tort litigation. He comes to Rawle & Henderson LLP from the Pittsburgh firm of Davies McFarland & Carroll, P.C. Lienert graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 2003. He earned his J.D. from Ohio Northern University - Pettit College of Law in 2006 and was an Associate Editor of the Ohio Northern University Law Review. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
