Rev. John A. Kasparek became Pastor/Rector in May of 2000. Fr. Kasparek saw the Cathedral parish grow to over 2,700 families. Fr. Kasparek focused on enhancing the liturgy and the overall worship experience. During his time, the music program was expanded and developed. It was though his efforts that the Cathedral was fortunate to acquire the impressive Rodgers Digital Organ, which produces one of the most advanced sounds in digital organ "presence".

Pastor John Kasparek said Nobile is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
"I feel the parish has been fortunate for his gifts and talents for the four years he's been here," Kasparek said."Now he's going to move on professionally, and many people are sad.We are lucky to have him as long as we did."
One of the church's paid cantors, W. Brandon Lynn, also has resigned, Kasparek confirmed.
Kasparek said he's hopeful the turmoil is over: "The parish has finally come to some healing."
