...February 09, 2003 - Georgetown Mayor John Jandes said he has not yet decided if he will run for reelection this fall.
"It's too early, petitions don't have to be in until the end of August," said Jandes
is considering not running.Jandes
holds down a full-time job and devotes his
extra time to the mayor's job.
"Right now I would say I'm not running.I want to put more focus on my family and kids, plus there are some career goals I want to focus on," said Jandes
wife, Candy, have two children, Alysa, 3, and Lauren, 6.

"No one wanted to step up and take it," said Jandes
."I don't regret it.It has been an experience of a lifetime.It has given me confidence in my ability to supervise others."Jandes
later ran for the position and was elected to a four-year term which ends next year.
"Yes, Stan called me and I told him I was thinking about not running," said Jandes
agreed that issue needed to be addressed, but he
was also concerned about developing the area around the new Southern Ohio Veterans Home.
"That's were the next area of development is going to be," said Jandes
The mayor said Georgetown
has a variety of needs and his
big concern is bringing more businesses to Georgetown.
"Right now people have to go down the road for things (shopping)," said Jandes
."People would stay here and shop if businesses were here."
There have been discussions with Skyline Chili and Frisch's about locating restaurants in Georgetown
