"I was looking for a challenge to get back into a community-based hospital practice.I wanted to come into a hospital with 500 beds or less, and I wanted to have an impact on patient care with my experience," Hayes
said. Hayes received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Campbell University School of Pharmacy in 1990 and served his pharmacy internship at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham.He completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond, Va., and served as the Assistant Director and Clinical Coordinator of Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston from1992 to 1996. He
is still active as an adjunct professor with the Campbell University School of Pharmacy
, the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy
and the Medical College of Virginia
.He was previously owner/manager of Medi-Fare Drug and Home Health Care in Blacksburg, S.C. before his relocation to Haywood County.He
