Strategic Initiatives - Partners John Grose, Ph.D. John Grose has over 30 years of experience in the improvement of organizational productivity and customer service through strategic information technology planning, information systems implementation, technology management and quality assurance. He has extensive practical experience in a wide range of industries - in particular, higher education, telecommunications, energy utilities and broadcast communications. Recently, as the Account Executive for SunGard Higher Education, the world-wide leader in higher education software technology, he managed an on-site staff of fifteen, with a $2.8 million annual budget, supporting enterprise-wide information processing for computing applications for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey's university of the health sciences and the largest institution of its kind in the nation. He has created 5-year IT strategic plans and provided consultation to the chief technology officers encompassing IT organizational structure, strategic planning processes for information systems, IT infrastructure, and internet-based service solutions for several large institute of higher education. At The Weather Channel (TWC), the world-wide leader in the field of weather broadcast communications, he provided guidance on strategic planning, reorganization and management of the information technology department and created an enterprise-wide product quality assurance program for TWC. He reported on IT process improvements to the Chief Technology Officer of the TWC parent company, Landmark Communications, and to the Chief Information Officer of TWC. Additionally, he project management for systems testing and IT quality assurance under a separate $8.7m Y2K remediation project for TWC. Dr. Grose is highly experienced in the application of technology tools and analytics to support planning processes, aligning strategic planning, accreditation and program review, continuous process improvement, and budgeting. He is also experineced in creating new executive decision making environments. John Grose earned a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business Doctoral Program, majoring in Decision Sciences. He earned a MBA and BS from Florida State University, studying management information systems and engineering science.
