Glendale - The Common Council gave the go ahead Monday night to City Attorney John Fuchs - who is also the village attorney in Brown Deer - to gauge Brown Deer's interest in a consolidated municipal court system.
Fuchs told the Common Council that a consolidation could save both communities money as a result of eliminating redundancies, and that their potential consolidated court could someday grow to include more communities from the North Shore. "There are some advantages to the economy of scale," Fuchs said.

Glendale - On the recommendation of City Attorney John Fuchs, the Common Council approved payments to three subcontractors who worked on the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems at the city's Public Works Building.
The city's money has been withheld because of defects in the system, according to a memo from Fuchs. Fuchs wrote that payment of the subcontractors will allow them to come back and assist in getting the system working properly. Fuchs anticipates that the city will eventually be in litigation with Zien.

City Attorney John Fuchs suggested a $12 surcharge in a memo to the council.
Most city tickets are issued to non residents, according to Fuchs, so the fuel surcharge is not likely to impact many residents.

After meeting in closed session with the council, Mayor Jerry Tepper said the council directed City Attorney John Fuchs to meet with McCabe and his neighbors to discuss the issue.
Fuchs will then report back to the council.
