served as Assistant County Attorney for Erie County Executive Edward Rutkowski, Assistant Attorney General for Attorney General Dennis Vacco, and counsel to several New York State Senators, including Walter J. Floss, John B. Sheffer, Mary Lou Rath and, most recently, Dale M. Volker.
As senior advisor to Senator Volker for nearly 14 years, Mr. Drexelius took a leadership role in developing broad legislative agendas.

Other legislative highlights of his career include the development of legislation creating the Roswell Park and Erie County Medical Center Public Authorities, the Great Lakes Protection Fund and the Buffalo Joint Schools Construction Board, and authorizing the construction of a new international bridge connecting Buffalo, New York with Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.
