Who We Are

www.wme.org [cached]

Already a successful businessman and Christian leader, Dr. John Douglas, Sr. felt he still
needed to do more to reach lost souls for Christ. Responding to that call, he sold all he had and entered full- time ministry. After accepting an invitation to minister in India, Dr. Douglas met a Hindu man at a Gospel meeting who asked Dr. Douglas if he really believed what he preached. When John Douglas said yes, the Hindu man left 7 orphaned children with the visiting American minister. Dr. Douglas accepted the challenge as a part of his calling from God and built a children's home for orphans. God honored Dr. Douglas' commitment to serve by transforming a ministry starting with 7 orphans into an outreach to suffering children and people in many countries. John Douglas gave the remainder of his life to meeting the spiritual and physical needs of impoverished, hurting people. His vision included a mighty army of native missionaries working in their own Dr. John Douglas, Sr. with a child

Both scores make their premiere CD debuts here, with CRACK IN THE WORLD'S composer John Douglas (TV's TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE) fashioning a traditionally rousing and richly dramatic orchestral ride, while Brian Gascoigne's (THE EMERALD FOREST) PHASE IV heads in another, but no less compelling direction, with pioneering electronic and acoustic sonics creating a soundscape for the striking imagery in renowned graphic artist Saul Bass' experimental directorial debut.

Child Sponsorship

About 60 years ago, WME's founder Dr. John Douglas, Sr. was ministering in India.
A Hindu man asked Dr. Douglas whether he truly believed what he preached, and then he challenged Dr. Douglas to prove his faith by taking care of 7 orphaned children. Dr. Douglas embraced the challenge as a call from God to take responsibility for children no one else wanted. In doing so, he founded a mission that has saved and nurtured thousands of children in need.
