Dr. John E. Douglas Sr. - A man of faith and vision!
World Missionary Evangelism, Inc. was founded by the late Dr. John E. Douglas Sr., Preacher, Teacher and Humanitarian.
lived in West Virginia and was one of the region's most successful store owners.
felt that he
should do more with his
life, by reaching more people with the love of Christ.
One morning when he
wife joined in prayer the vision of full time Christian service was born.
After selling all he
faith and life in the Lord's hands.
Being in full time ministry Dr. Douglas
received an invitation to go to India and share the Gospel.
crossed the ocean and viewed another nation for the first time.
It was in India that he
had found the Lord's will for his
was challenged by a Hindu man attending one of the gospel meeting to practice what he
preached and turned over the suffering lives of 7 orphan children to the man of God.
answered the challenge and what seemed like a small investment of money and commitment to these 7 orphan children blossomed into a world wide outreach to suffering children around the world.
traveled preaching in India, Korea, and the Philippines thousands were saved.
Dr. John Douglas
met native Christians who wanted to share the gospel but had very little training and resources.
realized these passionate Christians knew their country, customs and people and could reach more people for Christ than an American missionary.
God gave Dr. Douglas
a vision of a mighty army of native missionaries going into their lands and fulfilling the Great Commission
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost..."
found that saving souls was not enough, there was sickness, hunger, poverty and hopelessness and he
knew the Lord would heal them, feed them, and give them a start at life and John Douglas
