John Dockery -  Camp Director
"The Pro With The Pedigree" - John made the unlikely transition from the quiet Harvard libraries of his undergraduate days to the colorful playing fields of the NFL. Exchanging his mortarboard for a Jet helmet, he added a touch of ivy to the 1969 Super Bowl. On any given Sunday afternoon one had to scan the field to find just where this versatile performer was playing. John spent two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and one with the World Football League. As a pro he has played left and right comerback, wide receiver, back-up place-kicker, and, of all things, reserve quarterback.
Personable and articulate, John has had extraordinary success in his work with young athletes. Having worked at another football camp, John saw the necessity for a football program responsive to the on and off the field needs of young men. John is an expert analyst for CBS Football.
Political Friends and Events

Following a home football game in 1989, I coordinated a live post-game interview with John Dockery of CBS and Auburn's star linebacker Quentin Riggins. In 1991, following his professional career, I hired Quentin to be the football radio sideline analyst for the Auburn Network, a position he continues to hold. I've also worked with Quentin on a number of political fronts as he served as Governor Riley's Legislative Director and later Vice President of the Business Council of Alabama. Quentin is probably my favorite all-time Auburn football player and a great friend.
