John V. Cua, MD Dr. John Cua's
tenure can be traced back to 1968.At that time, he
was involved in a rotating internship at the former St. John Hospital
located in Cleveland.He
completed two internal medicine residencies between 1968 - 1971.The first at Cleveland's Lutheran Hospital
from 1968 - 1970; the second, from 1970 -1971, at Case Western Reserve University's Cleveland Veterans Administration Hospital
.From 1971 - 1972, he was a house physician at Fairview General Hospital.In 1972, he became a member of the Medical Staff at the former St. John Hospital in the Internal Medicine department.
It was around that time Dr. Cua
became interested in Hematology/Oncology as well as the healthcare needs of older adults.As the years progressed, he
served on the St. John Hospital's Tumor Clinic and Cancer Registry Committee.In 1981, he joined the Medical Staff of St. John West Shore Hospital.
In 1986, he
became involved with a new program called Mobile Medical
, which was based at St. John Hospital
.Later, the program moved to its current location at St. John West Shore Hospital
was recognized, in 1999, as the Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year from the SJWS
Graduate Medical Education Program.
