Anglican bishop for the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza, John Paul Changae, expressed regret yesterday that one of its employees had attacked Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) presidential candidate during a campaign rally at CCM Kirumba Stadium on Saturday.
In an exclusive interview with The Guardian, Bishop Changae
said CCM and the public in general should understand that the incident was personal and that the church had no role in it, apart from being the employer of Lucas Omahe Galani.
added that he
would personally visit Mwanza Regional Commissioner and CCM regional chairman and secretary to apologise for what happened to maintain the church's good relations with the state.
