John Brooks joined the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) in August 2003 as a Financial Analyst working directly on several state programs administered by NMFA but more specifically with the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund (DWRLF).
He was promoted to the Director of Commercial Lending in 2009 where his primary responsibility is to deliver low cost funds to businesses throughout New Mexico.
has structured approximately $445.8 million different projects in New Mexico, which includes over $163 million in various Economic Development projects throughout the State of New Mexico.
A native of Aurora, Colorado, John earned a B.S. in Business Management with a specialty Finance in December 1995 from Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
After completing undergraduate studies, John worked in the Finance industry as a stockbroker for 10 years, most of which was with Charles Schwab in Denver, Co.
moved to New Mexico in 2003 and during that time completed his
studies for the M.B.A. with a specialty in Finance at Capella University
