Aug. 12, 2011 - The Lassen County Board of Supervisors announced the appointment of John Blacklock as the interim county administrative officer, and authorized the county counsel to negotiate an appropriate contract at 10:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11.
According to Blacklock's resume, since October 2001 he has worked as a private consultant or employee for a number of governmental and public agencies including the Chico Chamber of Commerce, California State University, Chico, Alpine County, the city of Red Bluff, Tehama County, Butte County, the city of Biggs and the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District.
He has served as Red Bluff's interim city manager, Tehama County's interim chief administrator and Butte County's chief administrative officer. He also served as State Senator Jim Nielsen's district coordinator.
Blacklock earn a master of business administration degree from San Jose State University and a bachelor of science degree in geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He also took a number of specialized courses in environmental and water management.
