BOSTON, August 29, 2001 -- Fidelity Investments Institutional Brokerage Group today announced the appointment of J. Peter Benzie to executive vice president of its Correspondent Broker/Dealer Division.

, 53, is a 26-year veteran of the financial services industry.He has been with Fidelity since 1996, most recently as executive vice president of its Private Wealth Management Group.In his new position, Benzie will have direct management responsibility for Fidelity's correspondent broker/dealer sales and relationship management organizations, and overall accountability for the results of the correspondent business line.He
will report to David Denison, president of Fidelity
Investments Institutional Brokerage Group.
