Dr John Bentley

Dr John Bentley
Dr. John Bentley has been a GP in Golders Green for the past 13 years. He has had a long interest in NHS management and politics. He was appointed Clinical Director on the Barnet Primary Care Trust Board from 2003 - 2006.
He subsequently went on to Chair the South Barnet Practice Based Commissioning Group. This was a group of approximately 80 GPs covering a population of about 100,000, united to help develop local NHS services.
With the advent of the Government's 2011 NHS reforms "Liberating the NHS", spelling the end of PCTs and the beginning of real clinical leadership, Dr Bentley saw this as the ideal opportunity to help lead on implementing these changes for Barnet. Dr Bentley believes that local clinicians now have the best opportunity to lead on improving the quality of local services in order to make a real and noticeable difference to the health of Barnet residents.
Dr Bentley's main responsibility in the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is Quality and Safety. Maintaining and improving the quality and safety of services should be paramount when changing the delivery of any service. Chairing the Quality and Safety Committee will provide Dr Bentley the opportunity to ensure these remain at the top of the CCG's agenda.
A Barnet resident for the past 17 years, when not at work Dr Bentley enjoys spending time with his six young children exploring the many green spaces that Barnet has to offer.
