He was appointed in 2003 by the Bush Administration to the US Environmental Protection Agency's Committee to Advise Reassess and Transition (CARAT), working with both US EPA and the US Department of Agriculture on policy affecting pesticide use.
John currently serves as Vice-President for the Fresno State Viticulture Alumni.
John is also a professional member of the American Society for Enology and Viticulture and is a graduate of the California Agriculture Leadership Program (Class 35).
John graduated from California State University, Fresno with a B.S. in Plant Science in 1996.
He was the Outstanding Viticulture Student in 1995.
