This track has it all' says Johan Lindstrom, UCI Technical Delegate for the Olympic Games. 'The Olympic track has the perfect mix between sprinting pedaling parts, highly technical rhythm sections and the high speed big, burly jumps. The track will definitely be the perfect canvas to select an Olympic Champion among the very best' continues Lindstrom.

(BEIJING, March 14) - Accompanied by staff of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), Mr. Johan Lindstrom, technical delegate of the International Cycling Union (UCI) recently made an on-site tour of the Olympic BMX venue at Laoshan in west Beijing.
Receiving updates on the construction progress of the project, he took a measurement of key positions and asked the constructor to specify the details of the venue.
He selected two soil samples from the six varieties the constructor had provided.
"The samples I chose are good in terms of viscosity and color and I will take them back to Switzerland for research, with the final choice expected to be defined very soon," he said.

Johan Lindstrom
Global SX CEO
At a young age, event promotion and organization was something Johan was driven to do. At 10, he organized his first ski event with mini skis (mini-skidor as it's called in Sweden). The neighborhood kids were invited to a downhill mini-ski event, which even had a legendary road crossing. Johan gathered some old trophies from his grandpa, which were handed out to the winners.
He was soon set to bring major mountain biking events to the mountain resort Åre, Sweden. After he successfully organized the 1995 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and the 1999 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, he joined the International Cycling Federation (UCI), responsible for the BMX discipline.
Johan set his goals to resurrect the UCI BMX World Cup and create an event platform for the very best BMX'ers to perform at the highest level. Johan has been instrumental in the development of the modern type BMX racing, BMX Supercross as well as the inclusion of BMX Supercross into the Olympic Games.

I truly believe that Monaco is the perfect setting for a BMX Supercross World Cup, where action sports meets fashion kind-of-a-thing, and we will do our utmost to have the 2011 SX finals in Monaco," says Johan Lindstrom, UCI BMX sports coordinator.
