Joey Astin
Joey Astin of Forrest City has announced his intention to run for Position 4 on the Forrest City School Board.
Astin, 45, has been employed at the St. Francis Area Developmental Center since 1988, and serves as the executive director.
He is a graduate of Forrest City High School, along with six brothers and sisters.He and his wife Terry have a daughter, Claudia, who is in the third grade.
He has served on the Forrest City Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a member and past chairperson of the Chamber's Education Committee.He is a member and past president of the Forrest City Lions Club.
Astin has been a Special Olympics volunteer since 1985, and has been the local volunteer area director since 1990.He has coached local youth baseball, soccer and softball for a number of years.

Astin said he is hopeful that even those who don't ride motorcycles will come out and enjoy a day of food and fun. There is a $5 per person fee for those not participating in the poker run.
