Joel S. Yudken, Ph.D
Joel S. Yudken is Principal and Founder of High Road Strategies, LLC, an economic, industrial and energy policy consultancy in Arlington, VA.
A nationally known industrial, energy and technology policy expert, he
has held wide range of professional positions in labor, government, academia, industrial, and public interest organizations.
Prior to starting High Road Strategies in 2006, he was sectoral economist and technology policy analyst at the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), and manufacturing policy analyst for the AFL-CIO Industrial Union Council.
While at the AFL-CIO, he also served on the National Research Council's Board on Manufacturing and Engineering Design and chaired the Committee on Productivity, Technology and Growth, Labor Research Advisory Council, of the Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Before that, he held professional staff positions at the National Institute of Standards & Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Office of U.S.
Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA).
Aside from serving on CPA's advisory committee, he is a member of the Public Policy Advisory Committee of the International Economic Development Council, the Manufacturing Working Group of the Apollo Alliance, and the International Advisory Board of Global Urban Development.
also has served on the Advisory Panel of the Pew Charitable Trusts'
Green Economy Scoreboard Project.
has written, spoken and consulted extensively on a wide range of policy issues, including manufacturing competitiveness, energy and electricity regulation, economic conversion, information technology and the Internet, workforce development, and science and technology R&D.
