Joel Beaudette, APP's Vice President of Sales, Waynne Froman, Vice President of Operations, and Dave Walker, attended an information session about an ISO 9001:2008 Collaborative program that the New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NH MEP) was offering.
Dave Walker participated in all seven workshops; Beaudette
and Froman attended a majority of them, as well.
"Getting involved in the collaborative was the best move we ever made," says Beaudette
"It was easy, and kept us on point while helping us help ourselves."
The friendly competitiveness between companies in the Collaborative brought positive results such as a deeper understanding of content, increased overall achievement, improved outcomes, and higher motivation to remain on task.
"The instructor provided a unique program with templates which can easily be tweaked to meet individual needs by filling in the blanks," adds Beaudette
It was a good mix," says Beaudette
"The needs were different but, it was good to hear about other companies' issues and perspectives and share ideas that could be related to our own situation."
"The cost of certification for a small company like ours had initially been a concern," offers Beaudette
"The collaborative price structure was much easier to deal with than if we had done this on our own."
The cost of participating in the collaborative program is approximately half of what a company might pay if they went through the process independently.
"We came to realize after all was said and done that the cost would have been much greater in time and personnel resources alone," said Beaudette
