Joel Ardoin is running for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1

Joel Ardoin has announced his candidacy on the Democratic ticket for Orange County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1.
As director of the Orange County Environmental Health and Code Compliance Department, Ardoin spends many hours in all four justice courts. His department files 180-200 environmental cases a year and Ardoin believes his experience along with his belief in enforcement balanced with common sense and compassion qualifies him for the position.
Ardoin says he "wants to maintain the professionalism and dedication Parkhurst has served with in our community.
"We deserve someone who will continue to be concerned about the future of our citizens and especially our youth, someone who will continue to have an open door policy and go the extra mile," Ardoin states.
Ardoin served our youth and adult populations educationally through working for the Texas A&M system as your Orange County Extension Agent.
As a father of four young adults, Ardoin deals with the trials and tribulations our children face every day. He will work with the school districts in the classroom to encourage our youth to stay in school. Ardoin believes, "As a community we must encourage our youth to aspire to greater heights both academically and morally."
Ardoin is an active member of the Orange County Lions club for eight years and currently serves as president. Ardoin serves as a board member of the CHAMPS Organization which is dedicated to building a facility for youth and adult educational purposes.
Through his position with the County he serves on the Emergency Management Response Team. He is also a member of the Coastal Conservation Association, as well as the Resource Conservation and Development Council. Ardoin is a faithful member of the St Francis Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ardoin feels his "extensive work in the community gives him a keen awareness and understanding of the concerns of the citizens."
Ardoin is married to the former Lori Hardin of Orange, daughter of Harold and Emma Lee Hardin, who has served Orange County for 15 years.
If elected, Ardoin says, "I will have an open door policy and be an active and effective listener, a concerned neighbor, responsive to the needs of our citizens. I will continue to work with all of our public servants on all levels, and make our community a great place to live, work and grow."
Early voting is Feb. 6-26 and Election Day is March 2. Ardoin asks voters for their support to become the next justice in Precinct 1.
