Following Avitabile's presentation, Joe Scioscia, Vice President of Marketing, introduced VAI's e-business applications.
VAI's leading e-business application is written in Lansa and provides both business-to-business and business-to-consumer capabilities. With an on-line credit card authorization feature and an electronic customer support desk, this dynamic offering was so well received by VAI's customers that many at the conference gave immediate approval to install the product. In addition to Lansa, Scioscia demonstrated both JWALK and Lotus Notes e-business applications to a very enthusiastic audience. Comments from VAI's customers such as, "We need to get e-business", and "e-business, just what I was looking for", were common at the conference. Following Joe Scioscia's presentations, Lansa unveiled their latest development tools. Fridays sessions included a look at the most recent version of Release 3.5, presented by Joe Scioscia, followed by the unveiling of Release 3.6, presented by Diane Brand, and then a future look at the development of Release 4.0, due in the Spring of 2001, presented by Larry Murphy. VAI presenters including Larry Murphy, Joe Scioscia, Kevin Beasley, Claudio Gallina and Diane Brand all did a terrific job in preparing for and presenting the latest offerings.
