We have 3 'for parts' Norsemans attributed to Joe McBryan, CF-GOB, GTM and NJV, this could be one of them.
I saw the same two fuselages in the Buffalo hangar in 2009/10, there was a picture of the wreck of NJV in the office, which I was told was one of the aircraft in the hangar and that Joe had 5, but I only ever saw 3 there, don't know if the 4th was there and not seen. Both the frames shown here are certainly Norseman." In a 2016 list I noticed: "CF-NJK (c/n 242) Joe McBryan, Red Deer,AB; minus wings. See THIS LIST (.pdf) So that brings us back to Nigel's candidates CF-GOB, GTM and NJV for the unidentified Norseman in the Red Deer hangar . Maybe we should be wondering where the other two 'for parts' are in Joe McBryan's 'collection'..? 2 - CF-GTM (msn 828) also listed as 'Joe McBryan, Red Deer,ALB - for parts' (same list) Ray Baret October 15, 1972; salvaged in 1992 by Joe McBryan (Buffalo Airways) for possible rebuild.

If only Ice Pilots NWT was in the USA - Pilot Ian

Joe McBryan is the owner and founder of Buffalo Airways, his fleet consists of old piston pounders.
Including the DC-3, DC-4,the Electra, and the C-46 aircraft. The show portrays the daily life of the airline, while simultaneously battling with weather mainly the frigid conditions. With the cold temperatures comes problems with the aircraft, always causing a constant battle with keeping enough airplanes out on the line. Just like any airline this place is no different in the sense that seniority is a big deal. But what makes this place unique is that a pilot pulling for a seat in the cockpit starts off on the ramp loading freight and unloading for months or years before they move on up the ladder to flight attendant, and then ultimately the cockpit. With the North West Territory of Canada very secluded from the world, most small villages rely soley on Joe McBryan and his fleet to provide them with their groceries, supplies, and fuel for the month.
