Among the awards: "Best Spot News Coverage" from the New York State Broadcasters Association for his coverage of the 9/11 terror attacks, the New York Press Club "Gold Typewriter" and Society of Professional Journalists "Deadline" award for public service.

and New York State Broadcasters.
Joe came to WOR in 1987, after working in both radio and TV in the Albany, New York market.
After working just six months as a street reporter and anchor, Joe was promoted to Managing Editor and one year later was named News Director.
Beyond his leadership of the respected WOR News Department, Joe is a past President of the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association, and a member of the Radio TV News Directors Association.
Joe is also a board member of the St Baldrick's Foundation, which raises money for childhood cancer research.
