Dr. Jody Ware, superintendent of Morrison (IL) Community Unit School District 6, has been hired as Superintendent of Mundelein High School District 120.
will begin her
position July 1, 2008.
Ware has been in her current position in Morrison since 2002.
She holds a doctorate in educational administration from Northern Illinois University, a master's degree in counseling education and a bachelor of science degree in special education, both from Illinois State University.
She graduated from Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois.
"While we had a number of outstanding candidates for the superintendent position, the Board of Education felt that Dr. Ware brought the knowledge, skills and abilities developed through her educational and professional work experiences to lead the district into the future," said Ed Specht, District 120 Board of Education President.
Ware began her career in education as a special education teacher in Freeport School District 145 immediately after her college graduation.
She spent a large part of her career in District 145 serving as a teacher, counselor, principal, director of early childhood education and, from 1994 to 2002, as a member of the superintendent's central office cabinet.
She left District 145 in 2002 to become the superintendent of CUSD #6.
At Morrison, she
currently oversees a district of two elementary schools, a junior high school and a high school.

During Ware's six-year tenure at Morrison, she
has been a leader and an innovator.

Generating the community-wide school safety and wellness plans,

After five candidates were recommended by the firm, the Board of Education conducted extensive interviews with the candidates before choosing Ware
for the position.
