honored at retirement event

Dr. Jody Ware, superintendent of Mundelein High School District 120 for the past six years, was honored at a dinner/reception June 13, as she prepares to retire from the district.
last day will be Friday, June 20.
"This was a wonderful evening of memories and good feelings about my six years as the leader of District 120," Ware
"I had my final interview with the Board
of Education right here at this restaurant before I was hired and it's only fitting that I am closing out my career at this very same place."
tenure at Mundelein High School Ware set in motion many of the improvements to educational programs and facilities.
The district will implement her
plan for a 1:1 computer initiative the the fall, and technology availability has reached an all-time high under her
The facilities were greatly improved during her
six years, especially following the passage of a $10 million referendum in 2011 which provided the funds for ongoing projects.
The District will also break ground for a three-story addition to house math and science facilities including STEM and Project Lead the Way labs.
"I'm looking forward to new opportunities in education as I look to the future," Ware
"Six years ago I didn't know any of the people in this room ... tonight, I consider you all to be my friends and trusted colleagues.
We had the right people on the bus to make all of this happen.
I couldn't be happier to spend this time with you and close out my MHS career with all of you tonight."
The Board has hired Dr. Kevin Myers to replace Ware as superintendent of District 120.
