Joanna M. Ceppi, Psy.D
came to Promises in 2005 on a very determined path.
Dr. Ceppi majored in Psychology in her undergraduate studies and immediately matriculated to The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA to earn her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
She worked in a variety of clinical settings including community mental health, various VA facilities, and psychiatric inpatient hospitals.

gained exposure to a multitude of psychological presentations but was particularity drawn to working with addicts.

determination to work with clients struggling with issues ranging from psychosis to personality disorders and all who are struggling with addictions.

has created and implemented the smoking cessation program at Promises
Each client who arrives at Promises
is assessed for their level of addiction to tobacco.
Although smoking cessation is not mandated at Promises
, Dr. Ceppi
will spend time with each client who is willing to explore their tobacco dependence and design an individualized plan that will addresses their smoking behavior.
Education, support, and sometimes the aid of tobacco replacement are given in the efforts to assist the difficult task of quitting smoking.
Dr. Ceppi has been active in the recovery community through her volunteer efforts on the Board of Directors at the National Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Addictions -SF.
