A native Montanan, Joan Hurdle has taught public schools grades one through twelve in Seattle, Los Angeles, Wyoming and Montana, retiring from Colstrip School District in 1991. Hurdle served in the Montana State House of Representatives from 1995 through the 2001 Legislative session. She was elected four terms to represent an urban Billings legislative district. Presently working in the Billings League of Women Voters, chair of the MET Transit Study Committee, co-chair of the Montana State League and a commissioner on the Yellowstone County zoning board, Hurdle is active in state and local issues.
