JIM MIDOCK Midock Media For over 20 years Jim Midock served in a variety of roles with WNIR. His primary role was that of News Director and Morning News Anchor. In that time our best estimate is that he delivered over 79,000 news and sports casts, and wrote over 250,000 stories. But Jim had other roles with WNIR. Through his participation in the WNIR Morning Show with Stan Piatt, Maggie Fuller and Steve French, he contributed his quick wit, great sense of humor, incredibly accurate impressions, tons of puns and the funniest, most bizzare kicker stories. Another key role Jim had with WNIR was acting as a sounding board during 5,200+ opening monologues of the Howie Chizek Show, Akron's top-rated radio program. Through all these roles and the magic of radio Jim developed a close personal connection with hundreds of thousands of people in WNIR's coverage area. Now, Jim has a new role with WNIR. One that was thrust upon him by an unfortunate genetic heart condition that took his father's life too young and almost took Jim's life in the Spring of 2011.
