named New England UMF
Charlotte - Garner, N.C. - March 15, 2011 - Knightdale resident Rev. Dr. James G. (Jim) Mentzer, director of planned giving for Garner-based United Methodist Foundation, Inc., has been appointed President of United Methodist Foundation of New England in Hampstead, N.H.
will begin his
new position on June 1.
"During the past five years, Jim has provided outstanding leadership on behalf of the Foundation's stewardship ministry services for churches, agencies and institutions of the North Carolina Conference," said Lynn James, executive director of UMF.
Mentzer received his B.A. in history from Allegheny College, an M.A. in history from Duke University, his Masters of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va.
A native of Bolton, Mass., he
is an ordained elder in the North Carolina Conference and has 16 years of experience serving the local church.
Prior to entering ordained ministry, Mentzer worked in the public and private sectors for more than two decades, including 12 years as a financial planner.

as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
