McMahon Announces Candidacy For LegislatureSubmitted by Jim McMahon CENTRAL SQUARE, NY - Jim McMahon, a life long resident of the Hastings, announces his candidacy for election to the office of Oswego County Legislator, District 9.Jim has served as a Hastings Town Board member from 1971 to 1973 and as Town Supervisor from 1973 to 1975. McMahon served from 1983 to 1984 as First Deputy Commissioner for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and two terms as President of the Oswego County Farm Bureau. He also served 28 years on the Tug Hill Commission, ten of them as Chairman. McMahon is a former Director at large of Oswego County Cooperative Extension, Central Grange #583, Central Square Lions Club, Knights of Columbus Council #9602, and St. Michael's Church. McMahon is a graduate of Central Square High School, Auburn Community College and Syracuse School of Management. Jim is the son of Emogene Allmon McMahon and the late J. Lawrence McMahon.Jim and his wife Cheryl make their home at 442 County Route 33, Central Square with their sons Daniel and Corey. Jim is an independent strong voice for reducing county taxes and government reform.
