Jim Martz of Florida Tennis and Kevin Janison of KLAS-TV, Las Vegas, Nev. have won the 2000 USTA Media Excellence Awards for print and broadcast media, the United States Tennis Association announced.

Previously Martz was a sports writer and columnist with the Miami Herald for 22 years, and before that he was at the Des Moines Register sports department for nearly three years.

He is a native of South Bend, Ind., received a B.A. at Alma College in Michigan and an M.A. at the University of Iowa.
