One will be able to check out new products, ask technical questions and just bench race if they like," said Jim Maher, owner of Good Vibrations Motorsports. "We are also rewarding racers with contingency as a way of saying thank you for the past 25 years."
Good Vibrations Motorsports will serve as title sponsor for the Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series season opener in Tucson, Arizona the weekend of February 6-7 for the Good Vibrations Motorsports Southwestern Nationals at Southwestern International Raceway. Good Vibrations will also act as presenting sponsor for the Spokane Nationals at Spokane County Raceway (July 10-11) and the Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta (July 17-19).
Good Vibrations Motorsports, based in Whittier, California, was founded by former Funny Car driver Jim Maher in 1989 as a home for high-performance racing products. With Maher's background in drag racing, and his commitment to excellence in his products and services, Maher and the Good Vibrations team are looking forward to once again partnering with one of the fastest growing motorsports properties in the country.
"Round four, here we go! We are excited to be on board again with IHRA, as they have rolled out the red carpet for us over the last three years," said James Maher of Good Vibrations Motorsports. "We are looking forward to another great year with IHRA."
Good Vibrations specializes in supercharged applications and mechanical fuel injection. They offer premium quality products at very competitive prices and customer service that can't be matched. Good Vibrations founder Maher is also an avid drag racing fan and Funny Car racer with multiple victories to his name.
"We are very excited to once again partner with Good Vibrations Motorsports in 2015 and beyond. Jim Maher and his team have been great partners for many years and we look forward to a continued and long-lasting relationship with such a great company," said Steven Cole, IHRA Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.
We welcome everyone to stop by the Good Vibrations booth and pay Jim and his team a visit and we encourage racers to check out the incredible line of products that Good Vibrations Motorsports has to offer."
Not long ago, Jim Maher, ... [cached]
Not long ago, Jim Maher, President of Good Vibrations, and I were talking about his company's involvement in sponsoring a series as it relates to Nitro Funny Cars. Here's the gist of our conversation:
"Ironically", Jim told me, "Our core market is not Nitro Funny Cars. Sure, we sell products these machines use, we sponsor events featuring the Nitro FC's and we even post contingencies and bonuses for them. However, our main market is the fast sportsman racer, especially those running blowers and fuel injection. These are our core customers; the ones that rely on us for great quality products at competitive prices, and white glove service. By aligning our brand with the Nitro Funny Cars, we're not only addressing that group's needs, but it gives us a lot of credibility with the other racers and hot rodders.
Jim went on to say that their marketing programs "Can be traced back several decades to their own years of racing with the California Independent Funny Car Association (CIFCA)", which Jim was past President of and still remains active in today. That's where he learned there were times when he had to take his drivers helmet off and put on his promoter's hat. His decisions had to have the racer (his competitors) and the track owner's best interest at heart. This built trust and relationships, without which most of today's programs probably would not have survived. Jim lives by that same philosophy today.
