Klausman is president and CEO of Topeka-based Midwest Health, a company he co-founded in 1977 that operates senior living facilities. Klausman and Wolgast were among speakers at the annual meeting of Downtown Topeka Inc.

Jim Klausman, of Midwest Health. Jim Klausman, president and CEO of Midwest Health in Topeka, received the 2015 Executive of the Year award from Sales and Marketing Executives of Topeka at the association's annual banquet on March 8. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the well-being of northeast Kansans. Klausman and Butch Eaton opened Midwest Health in 1977 after meeting while attending Washburn University. Klausman has a long history of community involvement, serving as chairman of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce and on the boards of St. Francis Health, Washburn University, Junior Achievement and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.
