Clock tolling on forced abortions | Pink Pagoda Girls - Saving Baby Girls in China
www.pinkpagodagirls.com, 27 Nov 2013 [cached]
"Officials with China Aid Association today announced the creation of the Chinese Children Defense Fund that is to provide attorneys to represent families snared in the Chinese government's limits on children," said the report, which went on to mention the work of Dr. Jim Garrow (Founder of Pink Pagoda), and the work of Pink Pagoda Girls.

Dr. Jim Garrow, the personality behind the effort, already knows a thing or two about saving baby girls. In fact, he has already been credited with saving thousands of baby girls in China who otherwise would have been killed by their families laboring under a societal demand for male offspring and the government's heartless one-child-per-couple policy.

Jim Garrow adds to the report that was posted last Wednesday.
The Obama administration is openly escalating its campaign against private gun ownership, and shaking up the top ranks of the military command structure -- but is it also preparing to make war on the American population? According to a person identified as a former senior military official, the answer to that shocking question is yes.
World-renowned educator and human rights activist Jim Garrow says that the source, man regarded as "one of America's foremost military heroes," told him that President Obama is using a new litmus test for "determining who will stay and who must go" among top-ranked military leaders.
...
Garrow says that his source made the disclosure in order to "sound the alarm" over the administration's plans.
While Garrow will not yet reveal the identity of the source, it's important to note that Garrow himself is a man of considerable accomplishment. He is the founder of the Bethune Institute, which has established hundreds of schools throughout China. Three years ago, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work though a group called Pink Pagoda, which combat "gendercide" in China -- that is, the practice of rescuing baby girls who had been abandoned or targeted for infanticide because of the government's one-child policy. He was personally involved in helping to save the lives of more than 50,000 Chinese girls.

The substantial financial contributions and dedication of just one man, Dr. Jim Garrow, have saved the lives of some 45,000 Chinese girls who otherwise would have been “set aside†to die in the one-child culture that demands male offspring, as documented in the book “The Pink Pagoda: One Man’s Quest to End Gendercide in China.â€
So just imagine what could be accomplished should tens of thousands â€" rich and poor alike â€" join hands, hearts and pocketbooks in a massive effort to reach out inside the People’s Republic of China and save many more baby girls from gendercide.
That’s exactly the aim of a new campaign organized by Garrow himself, along with help from WND columnist Erik Rush.
...
Garrow was executive director of the Bethune Institute’s popular Pink Pagoda schools in China. He ran private, English-only institutions for the children of the Chinese elite â€" an effort that eventually expanded to involve some 160 schools. The goals of the students and their parents was to prepare them for entry into some of the top universities around the globe.
But one day in 2000, he found his assistant weeping. The woman explained her sister’s husband was insisting the couple’s newborn daughter be smothered to make way for a son, because of the communist regime’s infamous one-child policy.

“We’re very excited about participating in a program that can save lives â€" specifically young, innocent female, Chinese lives targeted by the horrendous cultural pressure favoring boys and tyrannical, immoral government pressure of the one-child, population-control policy,†said Farah. “That Jim Garrow has found a way to do this â€" one that has been effective on a mass scale already â€" is truly a miraculous opportunity for all who consider human life a gift from God.

But risking his family, his employees, deep-cover Chinese intelligence assets and his own safety to save girls from the clutches of death, one at a time, Garrow illustrates the power of God to shape lives and influence others to fight injustices around the world.
In his work, he spreads word to Chinese families that their baby girls are wanted by couples around the globe.

THE PINK PAGODA by Jim Garrow is the compelling, compassionate story of one man's determination to save baby girls in China, one child at a time. Today, the number of girls he has saved from gendercide brought about by China's one-child mandate is over 40,000. Given that Dr. Garrow has been doing this for eleven years and is himself only 60, one can only speculate as to how large that number could become during his lifetime. This is the story of how one man's decision to say "Yes" to one child in danger led him to use his entrepreneurial gifts and innate skills for mobilizing others to create the baby-saving organization which is called Pink Pagoda. All of this has come at great personal cost to him, along with the reality that his life and those of his family hang on the edge of danger. Pink Pagoda is his promise to God out of gratitude for his own son's life being saved at birth. That is a promise he will honor for the rest of his life. Not that Dr. Garrow is a mild-mannered milquetoast loved by all and gentle in his demeanor. More accurately, he is a "rogue with integrity" who works hand in hand with the most secret of Chinese intelligence forces, and who is by United Nations description a "criminal engaged in human trafficking". Ironically, he was also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 and the Order of Canada in 2010. Apparently, God's guanxi trumps the U.N. The term guanxi is central to how Dr. Garrow accomplishes what he does. The concept of carefully nurtured relationships and connections dates back to medieval China, and is what drives life in China, at all levels - from the simple peasant to the President of China. Garrow is a master of guanxi, and one of the most highly respected people in China. His story combines his impish humor with the horrors of what he has encountered in China, more adventure than apologia. He is at the core an ordinary man doing extraordinary work under the guidance of God.
