Reflecting on Jim Buchanan's tenure at Fox 43
It was the summer of 1995 when I walked to my mailbox at WROZ-FM 101.3 "The Rose," where I was a part-time on-air personality, and found a memo from Jim Buchanan
Buchanan, the morning on-air personality and program director for WROZ and WLPA-AM 1490, wrote a note to the staff at the stations letting them know it was his dream to be a weatherman for a TV station, and WPMT-TV Fox 43 was giving him that opportunity.
Since that time, I've often thought of that memo when I turn on the 10 p.m. news on Fox 43
There was Buchanan
, my former boss, delivering very accurate weather information.
In fact, my brother believed Buchanan's weather reports were the most accurate of any local meteorologist.
I learned Tuesday that Buchanan is no longer at Fox 43, where he worked from 1995 until Sept. 26 of this year.
had also been the main weather anchor at WHP-TV CBS21 (1985-1991) and a weekend weathercaster at WHTM-TV ABC27
also had 15 years of on-air radio and programming experience in Philadelphia and Cleveland.
In this market, he
worked for such stations as WKBO-AM, WQXA-FM 105.7 "Q106" and WROZ
