(Woodland, CA) - The Yolo County Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce the appointment of Jill R. Cook, MS, RN, PHN as Director of Health, and the appointment of Christian Sandrock MD, MPH as Health Officer.
Ms. Cook has most recently served as Public Health Administrator for the Solano County Health and Social Services Department and Dr. Sandrock has most recently served as Yolo County's interim Health Officer.
"We are fortunate to have such a strong leadership team in our Health Department with Jill Cook and Dr. Christian Sandrock," said Yolo County Board of Supervisors Chair Matt Rexroad.
brings with her
a rounded background in community health, primary health care, nursing and project management, with special expertise in quality improvement.
Ms. Cook has held a number of public health-related positions with Solano County since 1996, beginning as a public health nurse and moving into management and administrative positions in 2004.
She started her career in public health nursing with the Yolo County Health Department in 1994.
She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Masters of Science in Health Sciences, Public Health from Touro University International.
Recently, Ms. Cook
completed a fellowship in the California Health Care Foundation's
Health Care Leadership Program.
