NYSNA LDC of the Month Jessica ZambranoCongratulations to Jessica Zambrano, NYSNA's featured Legislative District Coordinator (LDC) for October, 2008! An LDC in District 121, Jessica is actively campaigning for Assemblyman Albert Stirpe, attending fundraisers, phone banking, and holding press events.When asked why it's important to get involved, Jessica said, "We need to support those legislators who advance NYSNA's legislative priorities.Think how strong we would be if all 225,000 RNs in New York State banded together!We need committed members, willing to work with legislators who are not in support of our goals and convert them." Jessica said one of her favorite things about being an LDC is staying well-informed about the issues impacting the nursing profession and discussing them with her legislators.She also enjoys going to Albany to lobby legislators from other parts of the state.One of the greatest rewards Jessica has received from working as an LDC is personal satisfaction.
