Jessica Wohl is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art at The University of the South in Sewanee. Her recent work continues to build on themes of "Suburbia" and incorporates drawing, photography, and embroidery/sewing. Elements of family life recognizable to most anyone anywhere are deconstructed and re-purposed to talk about experiences we all share regardless of where we grew up. According to the artist:
"These works explore the relationship between what we reveal and what we conceal, and what the symptoms and consequences may be of doing so."
Jessica recently earned her MFA in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia and has recently shown work at Gallery F. here in Nashville. A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, her exhibitions include shows in New York, Miami, Atlanta, Kansas City, and most recently in Trondheim, Norway and Helsinki, Finland.
