JESSE T. SYDNOR is an Associate in the Atlanta Law Firm of Lawson & Moseley, LLP. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar and formerly a member of the Florida Bar. Ms. Sydnor entered Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee at 16 years of age and graduated with University Honors. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School at the age of 23.
Ms. Sydnor's professional background reflects a diversity of experiences including but not limited to, having served as Asst. County Attorney, Dade County, Florida, corporate counsel with Burger King Corporation and ITT Community Development Corporation, Legislative Assistant to a U.S. Senator, Staff Counsel to a U.S. Senate Subcommittee, and Asst. Professor of Political Science and Business and Director of the Prelaw Program at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, North Carolina. In these and other positions, Ms. Sydnor worked in the following practice areas: antitrust, litigation, class action litigation, education law, labor & employment, legislative and public policy, real estate, including sales and acquisitions, and HR consultation, with a focus on employee relations, diversity and equal opportunity.
Since making Atlanta, Georgia her home in 1995, Ms. Sydnor has represented a railroad labor union in a Title VII class action case which settled for $25,000,000.00, implemented ADA training and conducted investigations of employee claims for MARTA, and worked as a project attorney for some of the largest law firms in Atlanta, gaining additional exposure in the securities and pharmaceutical litigation practice areas.
Ms. Sydnor has served on numerous non-profit Boards and while living in South Carolina, graduated from the Leadership South Carolina class of 1992, was elected to that organization's Board of Regents and was also honored as one of the Outstanding Women in South Carolina. Ms. Sydnor is a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a member of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Atlanta chapter of NARAS.
At Lawson & Moseley, Ms. Sydnor works in the litigation area, focusing primarily on Federal Employers' Liability Act cases, and the general business, corporate and employment areas.
Ms. Sydnor resides in the Buckhead community of Atlanta, Georgia.
