www.cardonet.com, 4 Dec 2000 [cached]
According to ComDais.com CEO Jess Jessop, the choice of Cardonet was driven by several key issues, including reducing time to market, maintaining control of the catalog structure, efficient handling of ongoing updates, and making it easy for different suppliers to submit catalog information, thereby encouraging broader and deeper supplier participation.
"We have over 300 leading suppliers already registered to participate in our marketplace and are signing more everyday, we expect to have hundreds of thousands of suppliers within the next two years -- each with a different way of organizing their products and with a constant stream of updates and changes," said Jessop."Cardonet's solution enables us to rapidly integrate suppliers' catalogs into our own taxonomy, and gives us a process for automatically incorporating ongoing changes in supplier product information. This allows us to efficiently tailor our e-commerce offering to the needs of small business buyers and the websites that serve them."
Jessop noted that the combination of Cardonet's software automation and professional services is helping ComDais.com to accelerate the launch of the new marketplace."The combination of Cardonet's tools and their great professional services staff have given us the fastest possible route to having a large amount of transactible content, the true key to liquidity for any market maker."
