Welcome to Jess's personal Web site.
As many of you know Jess is semi-retired and remains active with startup projects and volunteering.
Jess is the Founder and Executive Director of Homeless with Housing Foundation www.homelesswithhousing.org.
He has an very interesting background; he has been called the Forest Gump of the computer revolution. He was mentored by several of the creators of the revolution including Ted Hoff, inventor of the microprocessor @ Intel, Alan Kay, inventor of the point and click interface @ Xerox PARC, and Tom Stockham, digital recording pioneer, Father of Digital Audio. He was at Commodore for the introduction of the C-64 and was invited by IBM to the original PC introduction. It seems he has worked everywhere including NASA, Atari, Intel and Rockwell.
He actively participated in birth and growth of the Internet contributing to networking and eMail standards. While at Atari Corporate Research Jess and the fresh from MIT legend Hacker Jack utilized a spare Zilog minicomputer Jess had in his cubicle to put up an ARPAnet node, (predecessor to the Internet) in 1981. In 1992 Jess was a contributor and founding member of the WinSOCK committee. He was ICL's representative to the EMA, (Electronic Mail Association), the group responsible for most of today's email protocols.
He is also a full time single Dad who home schools two of the greatest sweetest kids anywhere David Harley 11 and Thomas Lynn 10.
After living and traveling all over the world for many years Jess and his boys now live, work, travel and home school in

Jess was the founder CEO/CTO of ComDais.com. He has strong business development skills and contacts in the areas of team building, partnering, marketing, sales and venture capital. He was the architect of ComDais's groundbreaking XML/SOAP interface for the Ariba eMarketplace platform. Jess holds several recent eCommerce patents and has over 20 years experience as a professional software engineer and many successful projects to his credit. At ComDais he raised $6.5 M in funding and worked closely with strategic partners, Office.com and Winstar on joint development projects.

Earlier in his career Jess was VP of Engineering and a member of the board of the English company, Firefox Communications, Novell's worldwide OSI partner, and help take the company public and then sold to FTP. At the time he was responsible for all of both Novell and USL's OSI products in Red Box end user binaries and to most major UNIX vendors as source code.
Long-term focus for Jess is to become an industry respected eJournalist and Author with a focus on technology. Jess has been involved in many projects and startups focusing on application development and consequently has strong knowledge of both third and fourth generation programming languages and tools. He remains current with leading edge skills with classes @ the U of U and building sites utilizing PHP/mySQL, Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks MX and Adobe Premiere 6.5.
Jess has worked on architecture, design and development to create a proof of technology eCommerce bridge
Jess worked on current real world eCommerce platforms at ComDais. As an architect, designer and coder he has built state of the art Java / XML eCommerce applications.
Jess worked on a E-Commerce system focuses on procurement and B2B, business to business e-commerce solutions.
- Jess was one of three Team Leader for the core development group. - Instituted the first project to implement a written development methodology process. Implementing a semi-formal OO Development Methodology utilizing a fast lightweight set of processes, documents and CASE tools.
Jess worked as a Sr Software engineer doing primarily bug fixes to assist in getting two behind schedule releases out the door. The application was in C/C++ running on NT with an Oracle database backend. Development utilized MS Visual C/C++ IDE.
Jess worked with a startup, creating a remote Internet based backup and configuration management system.
Jess worked with the LANdesk product, a full-featured network management and control package.
Jess worked in a a small group of consultants that help software companies with business development, marketing, software engineering maturity, development process / procedure and ISO 9000 certification.
Jess worked on with Firefox as a start-up in the West Midlands of England.
Jess worked with OfficePower was the worlds first fully email enabled office application suite, utilizing both UNIX SMTP and X.400 email systems.
