...JERRY WOLFF - PRESIDENT Jerry began his advertising and marketing career in 1967 as an assistant account executive with a small New York advertising agency, Hirsch Tigler & Fried Advertising.While working closely with various New York area broadcast groups, Jerry accepted a position with WGSM Radio, Huntington, Long Island in 1968 as a sales account executive.
This was the beginning of a very successful advertising sales and sales management career that continued with a move in 1970 and 1971 to radio representative firms in Manhattan, HR Radio and Petry Radio respectively.Jerry's ability to successfully bring in substantial advertising revenue drew the attention of New York radio station managers and in 1972 Jerry accepted an account executive position with WRFM Radio, a property of Bonneville Broadcasting. In late 1972, Jerry joined the prestigious RKO Radio station, WOR, as a senior account executive.
Over the ensuing 6 years, he
rose in the ranks of the WOR
Sales Organization to Local Sales Manager and then, General Sales Manager.Jerry
received the RKO Excellence in Management Award for owned and operated radio properties in 1975.During 1975, Jerry
broke all previous sales records at WOR
, bringing in over two million dollars in advertising revenue. In 1978, Jerry assumed a new role with another important New York radio station, WMCA.He was appointed Station Manager and after 2 years took on additional responsibilities as General Manager.
Rapidly changing events in the communications industry coupled with Jerry's experience resulted in an opportunity that placed him in an entrepreneurial position in the cable television industry.In 1981, Jerry
formed a partnership called Sportstec Marketing & Sales
, which specialized in the sale of sports sponsorships on Cable Television and signage in sports arenas.In 1982, Jerry formed a new entity, Sportstec Sales, Inc., which added the capability of developing and implementing sports marketing media and promotional programs on a local market basis.
The expansion included many, many additional sales assignments in the cable arena.In 1983, another Division was created, Cabletec Media, which offered advertising agencies and clients in depth media planning and buying expertise in national, regional, and local cable.
Following the tremendous success in all facets of cable television sales and marketing, Jerry
formed a new umbrella company in 1984, Total Communications Group
, Inc.Both Sportstec and Cabletec
were folded into TCG
.He is the President and sole owner of TCG.
